The Diocese of Vermont includes 42 parishes and missions and nearly 5,000 Episcopalians across the Green Mountain state. Led by Bishop Shannon MacVean-Brown, the diocese draws its inspiration from the story of the apostle Peter, who stepped out of his boat and followed Jesus into the midst of a storm.
The Diocesan mission states that, “We place our trust in God, finding new ways to serve, worship, care for creation and foster conciliation and reconciliation across our state. We seek to take anti-racist actions; work toward environmental sustainability; and develop vital, collaborative, economically sustainable congregations and leaders in our churches and diocesan institutions.”
